About the table

Browser League is a small site that ranks free-to-start browser games the way a league ranks its teams. One season at a time, one table, points earned over weeks of actual play. Three of us run it; between us we have been playing browser strategy games since Travian was the whole genre, and we have the abandoned villages to prove it.

Why a league

Because a league table is honest in a way a listicle is not. Every game is measured against the same four criteria, the weights are printed, and the points are shown to one decimal place next to the games they beat and lost to. You can disagree with a weight; you cannot accuse the table of moving the goalposts between entries.

Who gets in

• Runs in a normal browser with nothing to install.
• Free to register and to play properly. A shop is fine; a paywall on the core loop is not.
• No real-money gambling of any kind. We do not review casino, slot or betting products and never will.
• Live for at least a year with an active English-speaking community.

How we are paid

The "Play" buttons are affiliate links. Sign up through one and the publisher may pay us a small commission, which covers hosting. Publishers cannot buy a place in the table, do not see reports before publication and have never been offered a point for anything. Points are final before links are added, and a game that falls below 7.0 on re-test leaves the table whatever the link earns.

Seasons

Four a year. Games carry over if they hold their points; the "Last season" column shows who moved. We do not keep old seasons online, because an out-of-date review is worse than none.
